If you’ve wandered through Salterns Marina recently, you might have noticed something very different happening along the waterfront. Say hello to the new and improved The Deck at Salterns — a vibrant, refreshed venue that’s already becoming a favourite spot for marina visitors, locals, and anyone looking for that perfect Poole Harbour vibe.
Last year, the marina team approached us with a clear but exciting brief:
transform their underutilised spaces into something special — a place with energy, personality, and a proper buzz.
Challenge accepted.
From Containers to Coastal Cool: How We Reimagined The Deck
The goal was simple: create a destination. A space people want to spend time in. A place that feels both effortless and thoughtfully designed.
So we got to work — and here’s what went into the transformation:
🔹 Converted Shipping Containers
We turned industrial containers into functional, stylish spaces that blend seamlessly with the waterfront setting. Think service points, bar areas, storage and feature backdrops — all with that rugged, coastal charm.
🔹 Stretch Tents for All-Weather Comfort
To make the venue usable in all conditions, we installed elegant stretch tents that provide shade, shelter and atmosphere. They add height, movement and a relaxed festival feel — a huge part of the new vibe.
🔹 Brand-New Furniture & Layout
Comfort + coastal theme = the perfect pairing.
We introduced fresh furniture to create inviting seating pockets, chill-out zones and social areas that make the space feel both practical and premium.
🔹 Immersive Theming
From tiki touches to nautical details, we layered personality throughout the space. Every corner has something to look at, something to interact with, something that tells the story of the marina.
